Counter Fraud Services

ABR Telecom offers a line of services that acts in the national fight against fraud, through systems and processes that complement the action of telecom providers.
Learn more about these services:

Impeded Mobile Stations Records:
The Mobile Impeded Stations Records consolidates up-to-date information about stolen or lost mobile telephones, based on the blocking realized by telecom providers. The information is available in a centralized manner for all national providers, increasing the range of action in the fight against the misuse of telephones.

Registering:
The user that had its telephone stolen or lost shall contact the service provider, irrespective of the technology used – TDMA, SDMA or GSM – and report the happening as soon as possible. The provider will register the phone in the Mobile Impeded Stations Records so as to immediately block new activations. In order to guarantee a permanent blockage, the user shall observe all recommendations given by the provider

Unblocking:
In case the owner of the mobile telephone recovers it and wants to keep using its device, service reactivation shall be required through the presentation of a legal document, in accordance with what is required by the provider.

EIR- EQUIPMENT IDENTITY REGISTER
EIR is a system that complements the role of Mobile Impeded Stations Records. It works as a security tool, preventing a stolen GSM mobile phone from being registered in any network that makes use of such technology.
Records sent to the Mobile Impeded Stations Records are included in the EIR for automatic blocking of attempted calls from a stolen or lost device.

SIGNUS – Anti-fraud System
The SIGNUS is a sharing data system where telecom providers of fixed, mobile and long distance phones have access to information to national and integrated fight against fraud.

SIGNUS tracks CDRs, generating alarms for detection and prevention of technical and subscription fraud. The volume of CDRs managed by ABR Telecom can reach up to 2.5 million a day. The system also provides the routing of client calls when roaming, allowing the provider to track the behavior of its clients, even when out of their networks.
